Making an informed decision as to whether or not to buy or sell a work of art and knowing the right price to pay or to sell for requires professional experience, established expertise, careful analysis, and due diligence.


I am, therefore, offering an independent, impartial and specialised art consultancy service in the fields of 19th and 20th Century art and

BUYING

I am searching for the most desired or appropriate works worldwide on behalf of collectors and clients. I view and assess the art works anywhere in the world and give impartial, independent and competent advice.


 a) buying at auction:

 My service includes the following:

    •    first-hand inspection of the work(s)
    •    price recommendation(s) based on art market data
    •    provenance check
    •    objective bidding advice
    •    bidding in the saleroom as bidding agent for the client
    •    dealing with post auction formalities and shipping arrangements


My fee for this service is a clearly structured and descending fee.


b) buying through private treaty:

My service includes the following:

    •    first-hand inspection of the work(s)
    •    price recommendation(s) based on art market data
    •    provenance check
    •    direct sale's negotiations to achieve the most competitive price
    •    dealing with formalities after the sale and shipping arrangements


My fee for this service is calculated as a flat fee.



SELLING

I also advise those who wish to sell at auction, through a gallery or privately.


a) selling at auction:

My service would include the following:

I facilitate the negotiations of the best possible selling terms for consignments to auction on my clients' behalf. My clients should get the most and the best out of the sale of the work(s) at auction.

I would also take care of all the necessary formalities and administrative aspects before and after the auction.


My fee for this service is a clearly structured descending fee, depending on the sale's total. My fee here rests entirely on how successful the sale of my client performed.


b) selling through a gallery or private treaty:

My service would include the following:

I would negotiate the best possible sale's terms for my client and aim for the most achievable price in the given market situation.

I would also take care of all the necessary formalities and administrative aspects before and after the sale.


My fee for this service is calculated as a flat fee.



'QUICK PRICE CHECK'

I also offer the service of an independent 'quick price check'. This service includes:

    •    price checking and valuing the work(s)
    •    examining the work(s) physically anywhere in the world
    •    condition check
    •    provenance research/check


My fee for this objective advice service is a fixed fee per work. This fee is independent from the value of the work(s).

If travel is required: my fee would be a fixed daily rate + occuring travel costs and expenses.



VALUING

My long-standing exposure to the international art market and expertise in the field of 19th and 20th Century European & American art allow me to provide clients with the service of valuing individual works and entire collections.

In addition, I am also offering a subscription to my annual updating service of valuations. It is an easy and low cost method of making sure that the collection is constantly up to date.


My fee for this service will be calculated on a fixed hourly rate, not depending on the value of the work(s) or collection.

For the subscription service I would charge an annual fixed fee, not depending on the value of the collection.



ESTATE PLANNING, EQUITABLE DIVISION and PROPERTY SETTLEMENT

I am also offering strategic support in regards to estate planning, division and solutions towards property settlements. This service includes valuations, suggested division plans for the next generation and strategies for the art involved in the estate.


My fee
for this service will be calculated on a fixed hourly or daily rate, not depending on the value of the estate or works of art involved.



CONCEPTS FOR PRIVATE AND INSTITUTIONAL COLLECTIONS / HISTORICAL RESEARCH

A further important aspect of my service is the development of individual concepts for private and institutional collections. I deliver clear, structured and individual advice based on my expertise. My clients benefit from my specialist knowledge, strong relationships and my many years of in-depth experience of working with private and institutional collections. I am also providing the historical research of works of art in the field of Impressionist & Modern Art in regards to their provenance and art historical context.


My fee for this service will be calculated either on a fixed hourly or daily rate or on a case-by-case basis.

LONG-TERM ENGAGEMENT

A further option is a long-term engagement that allows collectors and clients to engage me for a term of 3, 6 or 12 months for an advantageous fixed agreed fee ( + occuring travel costs and expenses) that would cover all of the services listed above. It would allow the client to have unlimited access to my services during that agreed period.



CURATING

I also offer the service of specialised curatorial work within my field of expertise. I can be hired as an independent curator to stage shows at museums, private galleries or within the context of a private collection.


My fee for this service will be calculated on a fixed day rate or on a case-by-case basis.



MUSEUM LOAN ARRANGEMENTS

Another aspect of working with important works of art in private collections is the desire of the collector to place a work or group of works on loan to a major international museum. Being in regular contact with museum curators and directors all over the globe, I am in an ideal position to recommend the best possible venue for the work(s) and negotiate and arrange the loan(s) directly with a museum.


My fee for this service is a fixed fee per work. This fee is independent from the value of the work(s).



PUBLIC SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS

I lecture on various topics such as the art market, the profession of the art consultant, collecting and Impressionist & Modern Art as well as German and Austrian Expressionism.
